The town has an airport, three grocery stores, a tackle shop, two garages, two hotels, two B & B’s, an RV park, a fitness centre, K-10 school, bowling lanes, natural ice curling rink &, arena, library, post office, LCBO, thrift shop, medical clinic, OPP, volunteer fire department, churches and many friendly residents.

There is something exciting, about the phrase “the end of the road”; that brings an image of wilderness.

This area is an Ontario fishing paradise.

While the biggest attraction is the northern pike, anglers can also find perch and walleye in the lake.

You can fish for walleye, lake trout, and some of Ontario’s biggest northern pike.

Pickle Lake is also a great destination for the big game hunter.

The black bear and moose hunting are second to none, and you’ll find some of the largest bull moose in the province here.

Because there is little population there is very little hunting pressure on the moose population.

PICKLE LAKE AIRPORT

The airport is located 1.3 kilometers or 0.81 miles southwest of Pickle Lake.

The airport offers daily flights between Pickle Lake, Thunder Bay, and Sioux Lookout.

Pickle Lake offers regularly-scheduled flights through North Star Air and Wasaya Airways to and from Thunder Bay (YQT) and Sioux Lookout (YXL).

Pickle Lake is really at the end of the road, as it is located on the province’s most northerly, all-season, all-weather road.
